How long will smoked mackerel last in the fridge?
I bought some cold smoked mackerel today (vacuum packed) and the date on the packet says May 30. Presumably the date May 30 means how long it will last if unopened – but what if I opened the packet? How long would the fish last in the fridge after opening?

Technically you should try to have it eaten in about a week but I’d bet you could go a month without issue. Remember smoking is a means of curing foods for longer storage. When it’s bad it’ll be obvious, either with mold or with a disgusting extra fishy flavor and smell.
