Shetland Boat Fishing
Fishing in Shetland is something special. A couple of mates and I went up for a Kayaking trip but were lucky enough to get taken out on a Commercial Boat to get amongst some of the monster fish. The highlights included a PB for all of us for Cod, Coalie and Ling and a possible Scottish record for Stevie for Torsk. The fishing and scenery were amazing but the thing that will be remembered most is the people. Shetlanders are a breed apart – hardy, hard working, strong, friendly, hospitable and generous. They have a cold climate but there is much warmth on the islands. Thanks to the Skipper for taking us out and everyone else for helping and making us feel welcome. Three days on and the fatigue and weary muscles are starting to abide but fortunately the memories will last forever.

Brilliant lads what a cracking holiday for you boys Simon you’ll have to lose the hat mate.
well done to the skipper for making it worth while for you all.
@scottishshoreangler Forgot my baseball cap and that was all I had. Mind you I look equally ridiculous in one of those too. Mind you the state of Stevie’s heid with no wearing a hat made me grateful for the one I had.
@SiWootton Fair doo’s mate maybe i’ll catch up out of skateraw soon mate if the winds and swell are right.
