ok im fishing on the miami(eastern side of florida) im on shore(cant cast very far, around 100-150 ft) im around sand/ rocks. surf is usualy very calm/tropical. dark gray/some blue areas of water. im using a strong rod and spinning reel. i dont know what lb test line i should get(thinking about 15lb test, suggestions welcomed) some people have suggested spoons, and i have 2 of those(silver on one side and red stripes on da other) i wus wondering about what type of lure to use
(name/color/size/pattern of lure would be appereciated)
i’ve used shrimp, fish cuts, and squid.
i just wanna know a useful lure and what it can catch.
also aound that location a lot of boats go in and out of the near-by marina, so iwus wondering if that would affect the rate of fishing in the area?
TY for all of ur suggestions, and i hope i have a lot of them. B)
A lady goes into Wal-Mart to buy a rod and reel for her hubbie. She doesn’t know which one to get, so walks over to the register. A Wal-mart associate is standing there with sunglasses on. She says, "Excuse me sir …can you tell me anything about this rod and reel?"
He says, "Ma’am, I’m blind, but if you’ll drop it on the counter I can tell you about it."
She didn’t believe him, but dropped it on the counter anyway. He said, "That’s a 6′ graphite rod with a Zebco 220 reel and a 10-lb test line … It’s a good all-around rod and reel, and it’s ."
She says, "It’s amazing that you can tell all that just by the sound of it dropping on the counter. I think it’s what I’m looking for, so I’ll take it."
He walks behind the counter to the register. She bends down to get her purse and farts. At first, she’s embarrassed but then realizes that there’s no way he would know it was her because being blind, he wouldn’t know she was the only person there.
He rings up the sale and says, "That will be .50."
She says, "But didn’t you say it was ?"
He says, "Yes ma’am, the rod and reel is , the duck call is , and the catfish stink bait is .50. Thank you for shopping Wal-Mart."

We’re going to do a little bit of troll fishing and then some fishing the calm waters on the inland side of the outer banks where it’s calmer. My main issue is I have no idea on what lb test line to use and how to rig up bait for different kinds of fish. I’m not changing rods btw. I do have a bass rod though if I "must" bring an extra rod.

Can anyone help me pick a boat fishing rod & reel for saltwater in-shore fishing. I am mostly fishing in the long island sound, for blues fluke and strippers.
I would like to do bait fishing and also use poppers and jigs. Is there a rod and reel combos that would accomplish both types of fishing?
Also what lb test line is good?
Also what type of line should i buy? (braided, mono, flouro)
