I do mostly pond fishing for bass,occasionally we go out to a lake.I fish only for catch and release so I don’t really have a need for this rod.My son won it at a fishing tournament.There are no rivers nearby with trout in them.We don’t fish off a boat either.I just hate seeing a pole go to waste.Other than for panfish are there any other uses for rods like this or is it destined for a garage sale?
That actually does sound like it could be worth a shot anyway.
Also,I have an ice fishing trip coming up in a few months.Does anyone know if it’s possible to use this for the trip or would it be necessary to get a whole new rod?

Ok I fish trout and bass mainly in lakes or in wide rivers. I don’t now if I should get a sinning rod, a spincaster or a baitcaster. Also can you use spinners on a baitcaster?

I’m looking for lakes or large rivers I can put my kayak in to bass fish near or at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in North Carolina. Does anyone have any tips?
