42 inch 25+ pound fish Catch & Release Striped bass top water Fishing MA Crane Beach Ipswich Essex 5/22/10 not the first fish of the year but the biggest year. Started my spring fishing with some nice striped bass riding the outgoing tide. This big striper Came up and gulped the jumping minnow down on the first cast. What made this fun was I the rod. I used a 3/8oz – 1oz Temple fork salmon pole 8’6″ or TFO rod. This was not as fat as your avg late season fish but at 25p it was fun fight on light tackle and even bent the vmc hooks. What you are experiencing is a very good tool that if handled right a competent can land very large fish and make fishing for smaller fish that more fun!
Greetings! I live in the San Gabriel Valley Area in California (626 area code). My dad took all of my rods, reels, gear, and tackle up to Alaska for salmon fishing so I basically have nothing right now. I am planning a sport fishing trip with one of my high school shot put coaches and I need some fishing gear in order to be able to go. I think I will need two rods, two reels (one for jigging/trolling and the other one for bottom fishing and live bait fishing).
What kind of rods and reels/gear would I need? (Please post some links with pictures and prices)
Where would I be able to find some really nice fishing gear/tackle stores in the SGV (626) area?
I have maybe around 200 dollars, would that be enough to buy the equipment I need?

www.flyfishingoutfitters.com The Z-AXIS Fly Rod! Mr. Wizard is back and talk about pressure! You know the design team at Sage was sweating some serious bullets when they looked to replace the XP. For more than six years the XP fly rod series has been the industry standard by which fast action fly rods are measured and now it has been replaced. Enter the Z-Axis. We know you’re going to be completely awed by this Sage fly rod series! These rods are lighter and although they generate the fastest line speed of any fly rod, are easier to cast (if that is possible) than the XP models. The added advantage of the extreme line speed is accuracy and control of your fly. If you want to talk trackability…You are going hear more cliches than you can shake a stick at (we couldn’t resist just one) about this rod series but just remember, if you want the lightest, most accurate fly rod on market, then reach for the Z-Axis. As Sage says it in one word “Magic”. To purchase this rod go to: www.flyfishingoutfitters.com

Hi. I’m planning to buy a good quality all-rounder fishing rod and reel combo (Shimano Crucial/Shimano Stradic), but I’m not sure whether to get a Crucial 6’6/Stradic 2500 or Crucial 7′/ Stradic 3000. What are the pros and cons? I know there isn’t a big difference but I want to get the best purchase.
I mainly do light/med fishing, targeting bream, snapper, whiting, flathead, threadfin salmon and jewfish (10kg). I’m usually on a boat, but sometimes on land.
This is a video of me Power fishing leaping trout, leaping salmon, and leaping sturgeon. A leaping trout give 50 fishing experience and 5 strength and agility experience per catch, the salmon give 70 fishing experience as well as 6 strength and agility per catch, an the sturgeon give 80 fishing experience and 7 strength and agility experience per catch. It’s easily possible to get anywhere from 60-75k xp an hour fishing with this method. To max out experience you would need 99 fishing and a granite lobster. If you can’t, or do not have the patience to drop the fish you can bring a knife and cut the fish into Fish Offcuts, which are used for bait. Although by cutting the fish you are sacrificing a great deal of xp time. You can use any type of bait to catch leaping fish, excluding living rock minerals. If you contain multiple types of bait in your inventory they will use in the following order: bait, feathers, offcuts, roe, caviar. If you have any skilling related questions, you can ask them in the clan chat: BlastBogiga.
